Centre Services
Harrow’s children’s centres are places where children under five years old and their families can receive seamless holistic integrated services and information, and where they can access help from multi-disciplinary teams of professionals.
Sure Start children’s centres are at the heart of the Government’s strategy to deliver better outcomes for children and families, building on successes of Sure Start local programmes, early excellence centres and neighbourhood nurseries and mainstreaming the lessons learned to extend the benefits to all families.
Children’s centres will play a central role in:
- Reaching the most disadvantaged
- Improving multi agency working
- Raising the quality of early years provision
- Improving accessibility and visibility to the local community
- Enhancing preventative approaches
All Harrow’s children’s centres will have:
- Integrated childcare
- Early learning opportunities
- Adult learning opportunities
- Childminder support
- Information about care, education, training and benefits
- Specialist support for parents and children
